During the last two years, the company Start Engineering JSC has successfully cooperated with the Spanish leader in the lighting field – ETRALUX, and yet in June 2014 it started one of the largest projects on rehabilitation of the street lighting in Bulgaria.
The high-tech project “Reconstruction of municipal street lighting“ is realized with a total of 13 municipalities with grant financing to the amount of 10,6 million euro from the EBRD on “Kozloduy” international fund. The design includes measures on replacement of the existing luminaires, which are with high pressure sodium lamps and with mercury lamps, with high-efficiency luminaires with LED and energy saving light sources which have lower powers, providing the rated illumination parameters. Introduction of systems for remote GPRS control of the street lighting in the residential areas is also foreseen.
The teams of Start Engineering JSC are executing the full scope of works on LOT2 and LOT3, including delivery and fabrication of poles, arms and electric panels, delivery of cables and conductors, hardware for their reinforcement and auxiliary materials; dismantling of old poles, street cassettes and luminaires, replacement of conventional starting up and governing equipment with an electronic one, renewal of overhead network, erection of new poles, installation of new cassettes, arms and luminaires.
Alongside with that, the teams of Start Engineering JSC are also executing all activities on the entire maintenance of the street lighting in Sofia city, zone 1 East. In 2015 the company, again in partnership with the Spanish company Etralux S.A., won the tender for 4-year maintenance in the capital, covering with that the highest volume of luminaires on the territory of one municipality until the present moment. Start Engineering JSC is a main subcontractor of Etralux, while the serviced area includes the regions: Poduyane, Kremikovtzi, Novi Iskar, Serdika, Sredetz, Slatina and Oborishte with more than 30 000 poles. The company performs the maintenance with 6 teams of experts and technicians in the area of the street lighting, equipped with 3 truck areal platforms and 3 service highly mobile vehicles for covering the zone territory. Over 20 signals are being processed daily through the company’s hotline, while a priority is given to the work on dealing with severe accidents, irregularities and bad quality of maintenance of the routes until now with the purpose of improving the overall illumination of the city.
On both projects installation activities are still underway, while it is foreseen the replacement of the street lighting on Kozloduy fund to be finalized in full scope by the end of 2016. Until the present moment Start Engineering JSC has manufactured more than 5000 poles and arms of its own production, while new production capacities have been commissioned in the newly built industrial complex in Sofia. The utilized technologies allow for a high quality and extremely low final prices, competing leading manufacturers in the country and in Europe. The teams of Start Engineering JSC and ETRALUX will also work together in the future on the Bulgarian market, covering leading projects in the street lighting.
